DRAWTISM
What’s expected when hosting a Game?
The responsibility of hosting means that you help us to increase the public awareness of Autism, as well as raising money for our programs. We ask that you take the time and read out some of the key points about Autism included in the What is Autism page of the Resource Booklet. You will also need to ensure that all donations are recorded and banked with Alpha Autism Inc. Thank everyone who plays and let them know how much money was raised.
Why do I have to register as a Host?
Because Alpha is raising funds for client programs, it is important that we are accountable during this process. There is a need to keep track of everyone’s activity which also means Alpha will be able to support you and help your game be successful.
How do I raise money?
There are any number of ways to ensure you raise some money during Drawtism. For starters, you could set a game fee or create a fun set of fines for those who cheat or can’t get an answer. Whatever you do do, just remember to have fun.
Where does the money go?
In 2009, Alpha has been joined by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect), Autism SA and the Autism Association of WA. Fundraised money in each state will go to supporting programs in that state. There is ongoing pressure on Alpha and our National Affiliates to provide an increasing range of services, programs and projects, and fundraising is crucial to supporting their realisation.
What if May is not a good time for me?
Some people lead busy lives and find a whole month can already be booked out. If this is the case for you, you can play a game of Pictionary and donate at any time. You will need to bank all money prior to June 30th to be eligible for prizes.
